SENL103 is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy targeting the B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA), also known as TNFRSF17. It is being developed for the treatment of refractory generalized myasthenia gravis (gMG). The therapy involves the genetic modification of a patient's own T cells to express a CAR that recognizes BCMA, which is highly expressed on the surface of long-lived plasma cells. These plasma cells are responsible for the production of pathogenic autoantibodies (such as anti-AChR, anti-MuSK, or anti-LRP4) that disrupt neuromuscular transmission. By selectively depleting these plasma cells, SENL103 aims to reduce autoantibody titers and provide clinical benefit to patients who have not responded to conventional immunosuppressive treatments.
