Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sensicutan is a topical cream developed and marketed by Harras Pharma Curarina, primarily indicated for the treatment of inflammatory and pruritic skin conditions such as eczema, neurodermitis, and itching. It is a cortisone-free formulation that utilizes a combination of two active ingredients: Heparin Sodium (20,000 I.E. per 100g) and Levomenol (alpha-bisabolol, 0.3g per 100g). Heparin provides anti-inflammatory and anti-exudative effects, while Levomenol, a natural constituent derived from chamomile, offers additional anti-inflammatory and soothing properties. Although some provided documentation describes the product as a comfrey-based formulation for pain and wound healing, the established pharmaceutical product in Germany is defined by the heparin-bisabolol combination. It is available in 30g and 80g tubes and is classified under the ATC code D11AX50.
