Senti-Scint is a radiopharmaceutical cold kit developed by Medi-Radiopharma for the preparation of technetium-99m labeled human serum albumin (HSA) nanosized colloid. Upon reconstitution with a sterile solution of sodium 99mTc-pertechnetate, the agent forms a radioactive tracer used for sentinel lymph node mapping and lymphoscintigraphy. The nanosized colloid particles are designed to migrate through the lymphatic system following subcutaneous or peritumoral injection, where they are subsequently trapped within the sentinel lymph nodes. This localization allows for the diagnostic visualization and detection of these nodes using single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) or SPECT/CT imaging, primarily in patients with breast cancer or malignant melanoma to assist in surgical planning and staging.
