Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**SentiKin** (flupirtine) is a veterinary analgesic developed by Kindred Biosciences for the treatment of post-operative pain in dogs. It is a potassium channel opener that provides non-opioid, non-narcotic pain relief by modulating neuronal excitability without significant anti-inflammatory effects. The drug advanced to a pivotal clinical study in dogs, with pharmacokinetic studies also completed for an extended-release formulation in postoperative pain for cats. Development focused on companion animal health, particularly acute pain management following surgery.[16][17][21]
