This combination is an investigational multi-agent regimen comprising **sepantronium bromide** (YM155), **docetaxel**, and **prednisone**, designed primarily for oncology applications. **Sepantronium bromide** is a small-molecule inhibitor initially developed as a selective survivin suppressant to induce apoptosis in cancer cells by downregulating survivin expression, thus blocking a critical anti-apoptotic pathway. Later research shows it also induces cell death by promoting DNA damage and inhibiting deubiquitinases that stabilize the Myc protein. **Docetaxel** is a microtubule-stabilizing taxane chemotherapeutic that impedes cell division, and **prednisone** is a synthetic glucocorticoid used to reduce inflammation and immunosuppress adverse responses to chemotherapy. This regimen has been explored in solid tumors and advanced cancers (notably, combination trials in NSCLC have involved paclitaxel rather than docetaxel), but as a three-drug combination with docetaxel and prednisone, it is still investigational and not approved for any indication[1][2][3].
