Septicol

Septicol is a veterinary hyperimmune serum developed by Vetal Company for the prevention and treatment of calf septicemia caused by *Escherichia coli*. It provides passive immunization by delivering pre-formed antibodies against specific *E. coli* virulence factors, specifically the K99, F41, and F(Y) pilus (fimbrial) antigens. These antigens are critical for the attachment of enterotoxigenic *E. coli* (ETEC) to the intestinal epithelium of newborn calves. By neutralizing these attachment factors, Septicol prevents bacterial colonization and subsequent systemic infection (septicemia). It is an approved commercial product in the veterinary market, intended for use in newborn calves to provide immediate protection during their most vulnerable period.
