Septomida MD

Septomida MD is a topical astringent and antiseptic treatment developed by Laboratorios Viñas, primarily indicated for the management of exudative (weeping) skin conditions. The product is formulated as a combination of three mineral salts: zinc sulfate, copper sulfate, and potassium aluminum sulfate (alum). Its mechanism of action is based on the astringent properties of these metal salts, which precipitate surface proteins to form a protective layer, constrict tissues, and reduce fluid discharge from skin lesions. Additionally, the copper and zinc components provide mild antimicrobial activity, helping to prevent secondary infections in compromised skin. Septomida MD is commonly used to treat dermatitis, eczema, intertrigo, and superficial skin ulcers, and is available in formats such as powder for solution (sachets) and spray.
