Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SER-014 (formerly PHE-377 or V-377) is an orally bioavailable, small-molecule antagonist of the transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1) channel. Originally developed by PharmEste and subsequently acquired by Serentrix, SER-014 is designed as a next-generation, thermally neutral TRPV1 antagonist that avoids the hyperthermia side effects commonly associated with first-generation compounds in this class. The drug has completed Phase 1 clinical trials in healthy volunteers, demonstrating a favorable safety and pharmacokinetic profile that supports twice-daily dosing. Serentrix is developing SER-014 for the treatment of neuropathic pain (neuralgia) and is also investigating its potential in preclinical models for endometriosis-associated pain.
