Overview
SER-190 is a polymer-drug conjugate consisting of the dopamine agonist rotigotine covalently linked to a poly(2-oxazoline) (POZ) polymer. Developed by Serina Therapeutics, it is designed as a long-acting subcutaneous injection for the treatment of Parkinson's disease. The POZ platform enables a controlled release of rotigotine, aiming to provide continuous dopaminergic stimulation (CDS) and maintain stable plasma levels, thereby reducing the motor fluctuations and dyskinesia associated with pulsatile dopaminergic therapy. By utilizing a weekly dosing schedule, SER-190 seeks to improve patient compliance and therapeutic outcomes compared to daily transdermal patches or oral medications.
