Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SER-214 (SRx-503) is a polymer-drug conjugate consisting of the dopamine agonist ropinirole covalently attached to a polyoxazoline (POZ) polymer backbone. Developed by Serina Therapeutics, this long-acting injectable is designed to provide continuous dopaminergic stimulation for patients with Parkinson's disease. By utilizing the proprietary POZ platform, SER-214 achieves a sustained-release profile that maintains stable plasma concentrations of ropinirole over a one-week period following a single subcutaneous injection. This approach aims to mitigate the motor fluctuations and dyskinesia typically associated with the pulsatile receptor stimulation of short-acting oral levodopa or dopamine agonists.
