Overview

SER130 is a first-in-class, 16–amino acid peptide drug candidate derived from the human interleukin-4 receptor region and designed as a partial agonist of the IL-4 receptor to exert anti-inflammatory effects. It mimics endogenous IL-4 signaling to rebalance pro‑ and anti‑inflammatory pathways, leading to inhibition of tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFα) release and downstream inflammatory cascades. The compound is being developed by Serodus for cardiovascular and diabetes-related indications, initially for reducing scarring after acute myocardial infarction in diabetic patients and more recently for delaying progression or preventing development of diabetic kidney disease by reducing albuminuria in experimental diabetic models.[1][3][4][5][9]
