Seraseal

Seraseal is a rapid-acting hemostatic agent developed by Sera-Pharma AG, designed to achieve immediate hemostasis in surgical and trauma settings. It consists of a proprietary formulation of proteins, primarily human thrombin and fibrinogen, which mimic the final stage of the natural coagulation cascade. Upon application to a bleeding site, Seraseal facilitates the conversion of fibrinogen to fibrin, creating a stable clot that adheres to the wound surface and stops bleeding within seconds, even in the presence of anticoagulants or in patients with coagulopathies. It is used across various surgical disciplines, including cardiovascular, orthopedic, and trauma surgery, to manage arterial and venous bleeding.
