Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Seremax Forte is an oral combination pharmaceutical developed and marketed by Iberica Verheilen Pharmaceuticals (IVP Pharma). It is formulated as a capsule containing three active ingredients: pregabalin (75 mg), mecobalamin (750 mcg), and alpha lipoic acid (100 mg). Pregabalin is a small molecule gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) analogue that acts as an anticonvulsant and analgesic by binding to the auxiliary α2-δ subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels in the central nervous system, thereby reducing the release of excitatory neurotransmitters. Mecobalamin, a form of vitamin B12, supports nerve regeneration and myelin sheath formation, while alpha lipoic acid serves as a potent antioxidant to protect nerve cells from oxidative damage. The drug is primarily indicated for the management of neuropathic pain associated with diabetic neuropathy and post-herpetic neuralgia, and it is also used as an anticonvulsant for treating epileptic seizures.
