Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Serevelle (formerly known as USPlus DERM) is a proprietary, patented oral and topical botanical extract derived from saw palmetto (*Serenoa repens*) using Valensa International's ActiLipid4Hair technology. It is standardized to contain a concentrated mix of four bioactive free fatty acids. Serevelle acts primarily as an inhibitor of the 5-alpha reductase enzyme (types I and II), preventing the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) to counter hair follicle miniaturization. Additionally, it exhibits a 5-alpha reductase-independent mechanism that prolongs the anagen (growth) phase of the hair cycle and supports the follicular stem cell niche. Serevelle is developed as a dietary supplement ingredient and nutricosmetic for thinning hair and hair loss (androgenetic alopecia) in both men and women.
