seribantumab + paclitaxel

**Seribantumab + paclitaxel** is a combination therapy under investigation primarily for **platinum-resistant or -refractory ovarian cancer**. Seribantumab is a fully human immunoglobulin G2 monoclonal antibody that targets human epidermal growth factor receptor 3 (HER3/ErbB3), blocking the interaction with its ligand heregulin (HRG/NRG1), and thereby inhibiting downstream HRG-mediated ErbB3 signaling and inducing receptor downregulation. Paclitaxel is a standard chemotherapeutic agent that promotes microtubule stabilization, inhibiting cell division. The combination was studied in a phase II randomized clinical trial versus paclitaxel alone. While the overall unselected patient population showed no improvement in progression-free survival or overall survival, biomarker analyses suggested that patients with tumors expressing high HRG and low HER2 benefited from the addition of seribantumab.
