Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Serocen is a nutraceutical ingredient and dietary supplement developed by Indus Biotech (Indus Group). It is a highly purified botanical extract derived from *Centella asiatica* L. (Gotu Kola), standardized to contain at least 50% total triterpenoid glycosides, specifically asiaticoside and madecassoside. Administered orally, Serocen is designed to act as a blocker of the 5HT-1a (serotonin) receptor to prevent serotonin reuptake, thereby increasing serotonin levels in the bloodstream. It is indicated for the management of depression, anxiety, and mood disorders by promoting mood elevation and reducing stress-related cortisol levels. The product is manufactured using the proprietary Natrusolate technology, which utilizes cane alcohol and water extraction for plants cultivated in Madagascar.
