SERPINE1 siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of the *SERPINE1* gene, which encodes Plasminogen Activator Inhibitor-1 (PAI-1). In oncology research, particularly concerning low-grade ovarian serous cancer (LGOSC), SERPINE1 has been identified as a key mediator of adaptive resistance to MEK inhibitors such as trametinib. The induction of SERPINE1 following MEK inhibition appears to facilitate resistance through the activation of the ERK phosphorylation pathway. Experimental knockdown of SERPINE1 using siRNA has been shown to reduce cell proliferation and restore sensitivity to trametinib in resistant cell lines and mouse models. This agent is primarily utilized as a research tool to validate SERPINE1 as a therapeutic target and a potential diagnostic or prognostic biomarker.
