Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sertraline + zinc sulfate is a combination of two agents: sertraline, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressant, and zinc sulfate, an essential mineral supplement. Sertraline acts by inhibiting the sodium-dependent serotonin transporter, increasing synaptic serotonin levels in the brain and thereby improving symptoms of depression and other psychiatric disorders. Zinc sulfate provides supplemental zinc, which is necessary for numerous enzymatic processes in the body and may have adjunctive benefits in mood regulation. This combination does not represent a standard fixed-dose pharmaceutical product but may be used off-label or as part of individualized therapy.
