Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Serum amyloid A1 vaccine is an investigational therapeutic vaccine designed to target serum amyloid A1 (SAA1), a kidney injury-associated molecule that plays a critical role in the development of renal fibrosis. SAA1 promotes chronic kidney disease (CKD) progression by damaging the peritubular capillary network, increasing vascular permeability, disrupting capillary integrity, and exacerbating renal ischemia and hypoxia via the CD36/JNK pathway. By inducing an immune response against SAA1, the vaccine aims to improve renal microcirculation, restore capillary density, and delay the progression of chronic kidney disease.
