Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Serum Fizyolojik Izotonik 0.9% is an isotonic saline solution (0.9% sodium chloride) utilized as a placebo control in clinical research conducted by Yeditepe University. In the context of a Phase 4 trial evaluating pain relief during intravenous (IV) cannulation in pediatric patients, the solution is administered topically. Specifically, it is transferred to a spray bottle and applied (three pumps) to an adhesive bandage (such as 3M Tegaderm +Pad), which is then placed on the skin at the intended cannulation site for 10 to 15 minutes. As a physiological saline solution, it lacks active pharmacological anesthetic or analgesic properties and serves as a baseline to compare the efficacy of 10% lidocaine spray in reducing procedural pain and anxiety.
