This process aims to shift the immune response from a Th2-mediated allergic profile toward clinical tolerance, often characterized by a reduction in allergen-specific IgE sensitivity and an increase in regulatory T-cell activity and allergen-specific IgG4. Clinical data suggest that younger age at initiation and higher initial doses are key determinants of treatment success, such as achieving a high tolerance threshold.
