Setmig

Setmig is an oral fixed-dose combination medication developed and marketed by Elliott Labs, primarily indicated for the prophylaxis of migraine. It contains two active pharmaceutical ingredients: flunarizine and propranolol. Flunarizine is a selective calcium entry blocker with additional antihistaminic and sedative properties that helps prevent the vascular changes and neuronal calcium overload associated with migraine pathophysiology. Propranolol is a non-selective beta-adrenergic receptor antagonist that reduces the frequency of migraine attacks by modulating cortical excitability and inhibiting vasodilation. This combination therapy is commonly used in the Indian pharmaceutical market to provide synergistic effects in patients who do not respond adequately to monotherapy for migraine prevention.
