Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Setopen is an oral dry syrup formulation of pranlukast hydrate, developed by Sam-A Pharm. It is a small molecule leukotriene receptor antagonist (LTRA) that specifically targets the cysteinyl leukotriene receptor 1 (CysLT1). By blocking the action of cysteinyl leukotrienes, which are potent inflammatory mediators, Setopen helps reduce airway inflammation, bronchoconstriction, and mucus secretion. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of bronchial asthma and allergic rhinitis, particularly in pediatric patients or those who have difficulty swallowing solid dosage forms. The formulation contains 10g of pranlukast hydrate per 100g of dry syrup.
