sevacizumab + FOLFIRI

**sevacizumab + FOLFIRI** is a combination regimen consisting of the monoclonal antibody *sevacizumab* and the chemotherapy regimen FOLFIRI. FOLFIRI includes three drugs: folinic acid (leucovorin), fluorouracil (5-FU), and irinotecan. Sevacizumab is presumed to be a vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) inhibitor similar to bevacizumab, used in combination with FOLFIRI to enhance antitumor effects. FOLFIRI works by targeting rapidly dividing cancer cells through inhibition of DNA synthesis and replication (5-FU), enhancement of 5-FU activity via folinic acid, and inhibition of topoisomerase I (irinotecan), leading to cell death. This combination is used mainly for treating advanced or metastatic colorectal cancer, as well as other gastrointestinal cancers.
