Seviprotimut-L is an allogeneic, polyvalent, partially purified shed melanoma antigens vaccine (adjuvanted with alum) derived from three human melanoma cell lines. It is designed as a therapeutic cancer vaccine for the adjuvant treatment of malignant melanoma, particularly in patients with stages IIB to IIIC disease following surgical resection. The active pharmaceutical ingredient consists of multiple shared melanoma-associated antigens (MAAs), including proteins such as MAGE-A3, MelanA, gp100, tyrosinase, melanocortin 1 receptor and tyrosinase-related protein 2. These antigens are taken up by antigen-presenting cells (e.g., dendritic cells), which then stimulate both humoral and cellular immune responses—specifically the activation of cytotoxic T lymphocytes and antibody production against MAAs. This immune response targets tumor cells expressing these antigens on their surfaces and leads to tumor cell death. Seviprotimut-L is being developed by Polynoma (a subsidiary of CK Life Sciences) in collaboration with New York University School of Medicine[1][3][4][5][6].
