SEZ6-ADC

SEZ6-ADC is a preclinical antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) designed to target Seizure-related homolog protein 6 (SEZ6). SEZ6 is a cell surface type 1 transmembrane protein primarily involved in neuronal development, but it is notably overexpressed in various cancers, particularly neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) such as small cell lung cancer (SCLC), while showing minimal expression in most normal tissues. This overexpression makes SEZ6 an attractive target for cancer therapy. The ADC mechanism involves the antibody binding to SEZ6 on tumor cells, followed by internalization of the complex, and subsequent release of a cytotoxic payload within the cancer cell to induce cell death. This specific SEZ6-ADC is part of a licensing agreement between an undisclosed licensee and an undisclosed licensor.
