Drug intelligence / Profile preview
An sFRP2 neutralizing antibody is a therapeutic monoclonal antibody designed to target and inhibit secreted frizzled-related protein 2 (sFRP2). sFRP2 is a secreted glycoprotein that modulates Wnt signaling and is highly expressed in various solid tumors, fibrotic tissues, and injured glomeruli. In oncology, sFRP2 promotes angiogenesis, tumor cell survival, and immune evasion by inducing T-cell exhaustion and M2 macrophage polarization. Blocking sFRP2 with a neutralizing antibody has been shown to inhibit tumor growth, reduce metastasis, and reprogram the tumor microenvironment toward an anti-tumor state. Additionally, sFRP2 inhibition has demonstrated therapeutic potential in ameliorating glomerular injury (podocyte damage) and pulmonary fibrosis. The lead clinical-stage candidate in this class is IVT-8086, developed by Innova Therapeutics (acquired from Enci Therapeutics), which has received FDA Rare Pediatric Disease and Orphan Drug designations for osteosarcoma.
