SFRS10 siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of the SFRS10 gene, also known as TRA2B (Transformer-2 protein homolog B). SFRS10 is a member of the serine/arginine-rich (SR) family of splicing factors, which play critical roles in constitutive and alternative pre-mRNA splicing. Research indicates that SFRS10 is overexpressed in various malignancies and contributes to cell immortalization and proliferation. Treatment with SFRS10 siRNA has been shown in preclinical models of colon and pancreatic cancer to induce cell cycle arrest in the S and G2/M phases and promote apoptosis. This molecular tool was utilized by researchers at Saitama Medical University and Hiroshima University to validate SFRS10 as a potential therapeutic target for anti-cancer drug development.
