SFT 4001

SFT 4001 is a dry powder inhalation (DPI) formulation of colistimethate sodium, a polymyxin antibiotic, being developed by invoX Pharma (a subsidiary of Sino Biopharmaceutical) for the treatment of cystic fibrosis (CF). The drug is delivered via the Softhaler® platform, a breath-actuated, propellant-free multidose inhaler designed to improve drug delivery to the lower respiratory tract. Colistimethate sodium works by disrupting the bacterial cell membrane of Gram-negative bacteria, such as *Pseudomonas aeruginosa*, which is a common cause of chronic lung infections in patients with CF. SFT 4001 is currently in Phase 1 clinical development, aiming to provide a more convenient and effective maintenance therapy for managing pulmonary infections in the CF population.
