Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SFT 4005 is an investigational inhaled drug candidate being developed by invoX Pharma, a subsidiary of Sino Biopharm, for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). The drug is delivered using the proprietary Softhaler® technology, which is a propellant-free, breath-actuated inhalation platform designed to deliver medications directly to the deep lung as a dry powder. This targeted delivery approach is intended to enhance the therapeutic index of the treatment by achieving high local concentrations in the pulmonary tissue while reducing systemic exposure and potential off-target effects. As of early 2025, SFT 4005 is in Phase 1 clinical development to evaluate its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in humans.
