Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**SG-2-0776** is a novel, naturally derived protein from the healthy human gut microbiome that promotes mucosal healing by improving intestinal barrier function and reducing fibrogenesis. It inhibits plasminogen activator inhibitor (PAI)-1/2, key targets in the tissue repair pathway implicated in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) pathophysiology. Developed by Second Genome using their proprietary microbiome analytics platform, SG-2-0776 has demonstrated efficacy in preclinical models of IBD and serves as the active component engineered into the Lactococcus lactis-based delivery system SG-5-00455 for oral, gut-targeted administration.[1][2][3][5][9]
