SG12

SG12 is an investigational small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic developed by Sihegene (Beijing) Biotech for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. Utilizing Sihegene's proprietary GalNAc-conjugated RNA interference (RNAi) platform, SG12 is designed to specifically target and degrade HBV RNA transcripts across multiple viral genotypes. This mechanism leads to a significant reduction in the production of viral proteins, particularly the hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg), which is a key factor in viral persistence and immune evasion. By lowering HBsAg levels and suppressing viral replication, SG12 aims to restore the patient's innate and adaptive immune responses, potentially leading to a functional cure for chronic hepatitis B. It is currently being evaluated in early-phase clinical trials for safety, tolerability, and antiviral activity.
