Overview

SG2501 is a first-in-class bispecific monoclonal antibody targeting both CD38 and CD47, developed for the treatment of hematological malignancies such as lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and chronic lymphocytic leukemia. The drug acts as an inhibitor of both CD38 (lymphocyte differentiation antigen) and CD47 (cluster of differentiation 47), aiming to enhance anti-tumor immune responses by blocking two key immune evasion pathways used by cancer cells. By inhibiting CD47, which delivers a "don't eat me" signal to macrophages via SIRPα interaction, SG2501 promotes phagocytosis of tumor cells. Inhibition of CD38 further disrupts tumor cell survival and proliferation. The drug is administered intravenously and is currently in phase 1 clinical trials for relapsed or refractory blood cancers including lymphoma[2][4][7].
