Overview

SG410 is a novel small molecule benzoylphenylurea sulfur analogue developed by Champions Biotechnology (now Champions Oncology) as an antineoplastic agent. It functions as a microtubule-targeting agent, demonstrating preclinical activity in pancreatic cancer models that is inversely correlated with the expression of microtubule-associated protein tau (MAPT). While initially characterized as a 'brick' compound due to poor solubility and a narrow therapeutic window, a liquid formulation was developed using Do-Coop Technologies' Neowater technology to facilitate in vivo studies. Its efficacy in these models has been reported as comparable to docetaxel, though the compound is no longer in active clinical development.
