SGA-360

SGA-360 is an orally bioavailable small molecule antagonist of the C-X-C motif chemokine receptor 2 (CXCR2), developed by Second Genome for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including ulcerative colitis. Identified via a proprietary microbiome discovery platform, SGA-360 targets the migration of neutrophils into the gut wall, a key driver of mucosal inflammation and tissue damage in IBD patients. By blocking the CXCR2-mediated signaling pathway, the compound aims to provide a targeted anti-inflammatory effect. The program was part of a significant strategic collaboration between Second Genome and Gilead Sciences focused on identifying new targets and drug candidates for inflammation and fibrosis.
