Overview

SGB-BS01 is a dual-target small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic developed by Sanegene Bio (Suzhou Shengyin Biopharmaceutical) for the treatment of dyslipidemia. It simultaneously targets proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) and angiopoietin-like 3 (ANGPTL3) to lower low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and triglycerides. By utilizing RNA interference (RNAi), the drug silences the mRNA responsible for producing these two proteins in the liver. SGB-BS01 is designed using Sanegene's proprietary LEAD (Ligand-conjugated Effective siRNA Delivery) platform, which typically involves GalNAc conjugation for liver-specific delivery. As of 2024, the program is in the IND-enabling stage.
