Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SGB-OB07 is a preclinical small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic candidate being developed by Suzhou Shengyin Biopharmaceutical (Sanegene Bio) for the treatment of obesity. The drug utilizes Sanegene's proprietary LEAD™ (Ligand-conjugated Efficient siRNA Delivery) platform, which employs GalNAc-conjugation to facilitate targeted delivery to hepatocytes in the liver. By leveraging the RNA interference (RNAi) mechanism, SGB-OB07 is designed to silence the expression of a specific, currently undisclosed mRNA target involved in metabolic regulation and weight management. As a long-acting RNA therapy, it aims to provide a potent and durable treatment option for obesity, potentially offering a differentiated profile compared to existing peptide-based therapies like GLP-1 receptor agonists. The program is currently in the Lead Identification (Lead ID) stage.
