Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SGB-OB08 is an investigational small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic candidate being developed by SanegeneBio (Suzhou Shengyin Biopharmaceutical) for the treatment of obesity. The drug is engineered using SanegeneBio's proprietary LEAD™ (Ligand-conjugated Effective siRNA Delivery) platform, which utilizes GalNAc-like conjugation technology to facilitate the targeted delivery of siRNA to the liver. By leveraging the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway, SGB-OB08 aims to silence a specific, currently undisclosed gene target involved in metabolic regulation and energy homeostasis. As of 2024, the program is in the lead identification (Lead ID) stage of preclinical development, representing an early-stage effort to provide a long-acting, subcutaneous treatment option for weight management.
