Overview

SGM-101 is a tumor-specific antibody conjugated to a near-infrared fluorochrome (BM104), designed for intraoperative fluorescence imaging of cancer. It selectively binds to carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), which is overexpressed in many gastrointestinal and other tumors, enabling surgeons to visualize tumor margins and detect cancerous lesions during surgery. The agent is administered intravenously, typically four days before surgery, and has demonstrated safety and efficacy in clinical trials for colorectal cancer. SGM-101 was developed by SurgiMab in collaboration with Institut du Cancer de Montpellier - Val d'Aurelle and Leiden University Medical Center.
