Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SGN-102 is an investigational micellar nanoparticle (MNP) formulation of cyclosporine developed by SGN Nanopharma for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. Utilizing SGN's proprietary MNP platform, SGN-102 is designed to deliver cyclosporine—a cyclic peptide calcineurin inhibitor—in a multiphasic nanoparticle system. This formulation aims to enhance the bioavailability, safety, and tolerability of cyclosporine, providing sustained release and improved tissue penetration while reducing systemic side effects and irritation associated with conventional cyclosporine therapies. SGN-102 is currently in early-stage development (early human / anecdotal proof-of-concept) for rheumatoid arthritis.
