Overview

SGX126 is a potent and selective small molecule inhibitor of the MET receptor tyrosine kinase (also known as hepatocyte growth factor receptor or HGFR), developed by SGX Pharmaceuticals. The MET pathway is frequently dysregulated in a wide range of human cancers, where it promotes tumor cell survival, proliferation, invasion, and metastasis. SGX126 was identified as a development candidate with favorable potency and pharmacokinetic properties and was advanced into Investigational New Drug (IND)-enabling studies. Following the acquisition of SGX Pharmaceuticals by Eli Lilly in 2008, the development of SGX126 was likely superseded by other candidates within the combined oncology portfolio.
