SH-M66

SH-M66 is an orally bioavailable small molecule G-protein coupled receptor 119 (GPR119) agonist developed by Nanjing Sanhome Pharmaceutical for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. GPR119 is a G-protein coupled receptor primarily expressed in pancreatic beta cells and intestinal enteroendocrine cells. Activation of GPR119 by SH-M66 stimulates glucose-dependent insulin secretion and promotes the release of incretin hormones, such as glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP), which collectively improve glycemic control. The drug has undergone Phase 1 clinical evaluation in China to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic profile in healthy volunteers.
