Overview

sh-OGT is a short hairpin RNA (shRNA) designed to genetically silence the expression of O-GlcNAc transferase (OGT). OGT is an enzyme that catalyzes O-GlcNAcylation, a post-translational modification that is frequently elevated in various malignancies, including prostate cancer. By targeting OGT mRNA for degradation, sh-OGT reduces the levels of O-GlcNAcylated proteins, which in turn inhibits tumor cell proliferation and enhances the sensitivity of cancer cells to chemotherapeutic agents such as docetaxel. This approach targets the miR-140/OGT signaling axis, offering a potential adjuvant strategy to overcome drug resistance in prostate cancer treatment.
