Shaogan (Shaogan Tablet) is a botanical drug candidate developed by the China Pharmaceutical Research and Development Center Co., Ltd. for the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea. The formulation is derived from the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula Shaoyao Gancao Tang, which is a combination of *Paeonia lactiflora* (white peony) and *Glycyrrhiza uralensis* (licorice). It is designed to alleviate menstrual cramps through its antispasmodic action on smooth muscle and its analgesic properties. Clinical development has reached Phase I in China, focusing on the safety, tolerance, and pharmacokinetic profile of the tablet in human subjects.
