Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Shedan Chuanbei Pipa Paste (Shedan Chuanbei Pipa Gao) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal syrup widely used for the relief of cough, phlegm, and throat irritation. The formulation is a multi-herb mixture containing active ingredients such as snake bile (snake gallbladder juice), Chuanbei (Fritillaria cirrhosa bulb), loquat leaf, Platycodon root, Rhizoma Typhonii Flagelliformis, and menthol. It acts primarily as a demulcent, expectorant, and antitussive by clearing heat, moistening the lungs, resolving phlegm, and soothing the respiratory tract. It is commonly indicated for dry coughs, coughs with thick phlegm, sore throat, and chest tightness associated with wind-heat or lung-dryness syndromes.
