Overview
Shen Qi Tiao Ti Formula is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal preparation developed by the Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine for the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). The formula is a complex mixture of seven herbal ingredients: American ginseng (*Panax quinquefolius*), *Poria cocos*, bighead atractylodes rhizome (*Atractylodes macrocephala*), *Astragalus mongholicus*, *Crataegus pinnatifida* Bunge, *Salvia miltiorrhiza* Bge., and *Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae*. It is designed to address the heterogeneous endocrine and metabolic disturbances associated with PCOS. Research into the formula has utilized metabolomics approaches, specifically ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry, to identify serum metabolic changes and potential mechanisms of action in patients.
