Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Shen Xiong Glucose Injection is a Chinese patent medicine (CPM) developed and manufactured by Shanxi Buchang Pharmaceutical. It is a fixed-dose combination injection containing extracts from two traditional Chinese medicinal herbs: *Salvia miltiorrhiza* (Danshen) and *Ligusticum chuanxiong* (Chuanxiong), formulated in a glucose solution. The product is primarily indicated for the treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, including ischemic stroke, coronary heart disease, and angina pectoris. Its therapeutic effects are attributed to the synergistic action of its components, which include salvianolic acids and ligustrazine (tetramethylpyrazine). These active ingredients work by inhibiting platelet aggregation, inducing vasodilation, and improving microcirculation, thereby protecting tissues from ischemic damage and reperfusion injury.
