Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Shen Ying Yang Zhen Dan (also known as Shen-Ying-Yang-Zhen formula or SYF) is a classical Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula originating from the 16th-century Ming Dynasty medical treatise 'Wai Ke Zheng Zong' (Orthodox Manual of Surgery). It is a multi-herb botanical formulation used to treat hair loss disorders, including alopecia areata and androgenetic alopecia (AGA). The formula is based on the TCM principle of dispelling pathogenic wind, nourishing blood essence, and revitalizing follicular nourishment. Its proposed mechanism involves reshaping the perifollicular microenvironment through dual regulation of oxidative stress and angiogenesis, acting on the VEGF/Akt/Caspase-9 signaling axis. Modern clinical trials have confirmed it can increase hair regrowth rate, improve scalp microvascular perfusion, and reduce serum testosterone expression.
