shenfu injection

**Shenfu injection** is a Chinese prescription herbal injection derived from the traditional Shenfu decoction. It is a fixed multi-herb product prepared from red ginseng (*Panax ginseng*) and processed aconite root (*Aconitum carmichaeli*), containing a chemically complex mixture that includes ginsenosides and processed aconite-derived diterpene alkaloids. It is used in China as an adjunctive treatment in shock and critical-care settings, including septic shock and cardiogenic shock. Clinical studies in sepsis have reported signals for improved lactate reduction, shorter vasopressor exposure, and some hemodynamic or immunologic effects, but randomized trials have not consistently demonstrated a statistically significant 28-day mortality benefit.
