Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Shenfuhuang decoction granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) compound formulation developed by the Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of sepsis. The formula is a modification of the classic Shenfu decoction, typically comprising *Panax ginseng* (Ren Shen), *Aconitum carmichaelii* (Fu Zi), and *Rheum palmatum* (Da Huang). It is designed to address the "yang exhaustion" and "toxin-heat" states associated with severe infection and septic shock. In clinical trials, it is evaluated as an adjunctive therapy to conventional sepsis treatment, with the goal of reducing 28-day mortality and improving organ dysfunction scores such as the SOFA score. The mechanism involves modulating the systemic inflammatory response, improving microvascular perfusion, and protecting organ function.
